When the Discerners (aka Judges) and attending staff tasted Meghan’s recipe, there was a deep pause. This magnificent beverage literally left everyone awe-stricken.

Made of Cacao Powder, Olives, Kale and other synergistic alchemical ingredients, show staff Christian and Akil actually reported crying upon tasting this magical beverage.

Greg’s dessert melted in the mouth like nothing I’ve ever experienced, quite honestly. I can see why the ‘discerners’ aka judges (as dubbed by Konscious Krieger) decided to award Greg the show Favorite Dessert Award. Greg is the lead pastry chef for Cafe Gratitude. I do indeed hope this recipe makes it to the cases at all the Cafe Gratitudes!

How do you feel about raw foods integrity in the marketplace?
To me the very notion of integrity in general is intimately related to food. For each of us as individuals what we eat, how we vote with our dollars and what we invest in ourselves, speaks louder than our words. Like Ghandi’s famous statement that his life is his message, how we each take care of ourselves with our food, how we create integrity within our own bodies, is the first part of who we create ourselves to be in the world. We all know that all change begins here at home, within ourselves.

Those same sentiments are only amplified when it comes to the marketplace. This is especially vital for those of us marketing foods to consumers and claiming that purity counts. When we say that eating raw versus cooked makes a difference to one’s well being, we are saying that the quality of the food matters. So it’s incredibly important that we abide by strict standards of quality and purity, that we live up to our claims.
What has this raw cacao issue brought to the surface that needs to be addressed in our community?
I love that this issue came to light. It’s brought up a great reminder that it’s up to each of us to take responsibility for what we’re creating. In a world that’s leaned more and more toward convenient, cheap and superficial, we can make a different choice by valuing integrity, purity and quality. It may cost more and take more work, and we (and our customers) are worth it.
Why do you love cacao?
Cacao helps me to feel bright, smart, energetic, alive, loving and grateful. Aside from all the phenomenal nutritive benefits of it, it’s got magic. I also love that cacao is such a good example of the power of returning to an original perfection whereas so many false and phony deriviatives have convinced most of the world that chocolate is something other than fantastic. The original has mojo. I love making a product that helps people feel better – healthy, alive and passionate.
Why do you love being a raw chef?

Though I have worked as a raw chef, my passion now lies more in reaching a wider audience by training, educating and empowering people. Our raw yoga teacher training is truly a lifestyle training. Each time we send a batch of trainees into the world, when they are enthused, knowledgable, and passionate, I know we’re spreading more radiance into our midst. That we can have fun and uplift our world to greater possibliities and more sparkle is a blessing.

Where do you see the movement going?
People ultimately respond to the truth. The fact that raw chocoalte tastes great and is good for us… that’s a truth that can revolutionalize the world. We’re lucky to live now – a time when society seems messed up in so many ways – as we’re forced to find solutions. People are quickly learning that how we treat our inner and outer environments makes a difference, and more and more of those people are taking action. The chocolate revolution is alive!
